Giada Gianola (1991) grew up in Ticino and graduated from high school in Mendrisio. After her Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and History at the University of Bern, Giada Gianola completed her Master's degree in Political Science and International and European Law at the University of Bern and at the University of Kent (Canterbury, England). Between 2013 and 2017, she was Prof. Dr. Markus Freitag’s student assistant at the Chair of Political Sociology at the University of Bern. From 2017 to 2019, she was a research assistant at Interface Politikstudien Forschung und Beratung in Lucerne. There, she dealt with the evaluation of measures and programmes, especially in the areas of education and health. She then worked as a research assistant at the Evaluation Unit of the University of Bern. Since May 2020, she is a PhD student at Année Politique Suisse as part of the SNSF project "Digital Democratic Innovations to Empower Citizens in the Digital Age" (NRP 77).
